Police are appealing for information and witnesses to come forward after a 28 year-old woman was assaulted and robbed in Shepherd's Bush.

Police say at around 8pm on Wednesday February 5, a woman was robbed in Eynham Road, off Wood Lane north of the Westway.

Two men approached her from behind and punched the 28 year-old victim in the head before stealing her handbag.

Police and London Ambulance Service were called to the scene. The woman was taken to hospital by ambulance, suffering head injuries. Her condition is described as serious but stable.

The suspects are described as two white men, aged 20 to 25. Both were around 5'10" in height and wearing beanie hats.

Officers from Hammersmith & Fulham CID are investigating.
