A couple of newlyweds have paid a fond tribute to the Shepherd's Bush pub where they first met with a specially designed cake for their wedding in Australia.

Jack Vernon met his girlfriend Megan Sandiford at the Walkabout Bar on Shepherd's Bush Green on 28 February 2004.

After being together for six years, they married recently in Melbourne, Australia.

"To commemorate our first meeting each other, we decided to design our wedding cake to look like the Shepherd's Bush Walkabout," wrote Vernon in a message to the popular bar.

"Thanks for all the great memories," he added.

Walkabout's General Manager, Adam Franks, said: "It's great as the manager for people to remember the Shepherd's Bush Walkabout so fondly and we hope that it continues for many years to come. This is just one of the great stories that makes all the hard work well worth it. What a great wedding cake!!!"

The Walkabout is an Antipodean-themed bar on the western side of Shepherd's Bush Green.

It first opened in April 1998.
