Thames Water Consults Residents over Counters Creek Storm Relief Sewer

Residents in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham and Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea are once again being invited to have their say on a scheme designed to protect properties from the misery of sewer flooding.

Thames Water held a public consultation on its plans for the Counters Creek sewer at the end of 2014 and is now seeking comments on several new and alternative sites to add to the feedback it already has.

The comments will help determine which sites are taken forward into the phase two consultation planned for the autumn.

Drop-in events for resident’s to find out more about the new proposed construction sites and register their feedback are as follows:

The Counters Creek sewer flooding alleviation project involves the construction of a new storm relief sewer to safeguard 1,700 homes and businesses that have flooded in recent years when heavy rain overwhelmed drains and sewers, forcing sewage to back-up in the pipes and overspill out of toilets and sinks.
