Henry Compton School pupil wins West 12 Centre's competition
A local boy from White City, 13 year-old Dominic Toussaint has won the West 12 Centre's competition to find the 2012 Youth Sports Star.
He has been awarded a prize of £500 from the Shepherd's Bush shopping centre for.
Dominic was nominated by his PE teacher Nessir Emadi from Henry Compton Secondary School for Boys for his continued commitment to sport. He has captained his school football team for three years as well as representing the borough with the Sunday team.
Nessir Emadi, Dominic’s teacher comments: " Dominic is possibly one of the nicest young men you can meet. He never gives up and is a natural born leader and motivator who is an example to all pupils in the school. He stayed out of trouble and has represented the school in just about every sport we do and does it so well too."
West 12’s competition aimed to recognise and reward a local young person who deserved to be acknowledged for their dedication to sport.
Dominic was presented with his prize by Centre Manager Gavin Waller at the shopping centre’s free sports event held last weekend.
Gavin congratulated him and said: " It was a great pleasure to present him with his prize and meet his family. We had so many brilliant entries but it was Dominic’s passion for sport that made him a very deserving winner.
" I hope everyone who visited the shopping centre over the weekend enjoyed the free sports workshops available and well done to Dominic who also managed to beat our goalie too!"
Patricia Gaffie, Dominic’s Guardian addes: " “I’m so proud of Dominic, he has always loved sport especially football and over the years has worked hard to develop his skills.
"The sports bursary from West 12 has given him such a great confidence boost to continue with his love for football and he plans on buying a brand new kit complete with football boots."
