New Season of The Upper Room Lectures Announced

The Upper Room has announced a series of forthcoming fundraising lectures.
The charity for homeless and vulnerable people, based in Cobbold Road, W12. Is hold three in-person events this season, two of which are in Chiswick.
The talks are free to attend but donations are welcomed. . Doors open at 7.45pm and the lectures are from 8 to 9pm.
Thursday 9 February at St Michael & All Angels, W4 1TT
Dame Sheila Hancock is known to many for performances in theatre, TV, radio and cinema. An accomplished writer, she was awarded Author of the Year for The Two of Us, a chronicle of her marriage to the late John Thaw. Her latest book, Old Rage, was published in June 2022. She will be in conversation with Torin Douglas, the former BBC Media Correspondent.

Mallory Horrill is Curator of Collections & Exhibitions at the William Morris Society and Senior Curator at Emery Walker’s House, both located in Hammersmith. She will be exploring the life and career of William Morris, whose work as an artist, designer, craftsman, writer and socialist dramatically changed the fashions and ideologies of Victorian Britain.

Jeremy Vine presents the Jeremy Vine Show on BBC Radio 2, and Jeremy Vine on Channel 5. After a busy morning doing the news he usually heads home and hangs out with his wife Rachel and their two teenage daughters. He also presents Eggheads, and during his career has fronted Newsnight, Panorama and Crimewatch. He will be in conversation with Torin Douglas.
