Save Our Hospitals campaigners urge people to join them at 7pm
Save Our Hospitals campaigners fighting to save Charing Cross and Ealing hospitals and the London branch of Keep Our NHS Public are calling on West Londoners to join their Rally on Tuesday March 10 at 7pm in Hammersmith Town Hall.
The themes of the meeting are:
Stopping the closure of A&Es in London
Stopping the closure of hospitals with 100s of acute beds in London, including Charing Cross and Ealing hospitals
Stopping the sale of "surplus", actually essential land owned by hospitals trusts
Resisting the political pressure on hospitals trusts to borrow heavily and therefore wreck their balance sheets
Resisting the competitive tendering by CCGs to private companies and the privatization of the NHS
Encouraging all political parties to fund GPs, hospitals and all their staff in full from year to year, and for the long term
The speakers are drawn from all parts of the political spectrum, united by their love of the NHS and overwhelming desire to see this uniquely fair and efficient service preserved, protected and cherished.
They include consultants and GPs working in the NHS as well as politicians speaking ahead of the general election, when the future of the NHS will be among the top issues.
