Local venue to host 'World Cup Carnival 2010'

Football fans are set to descend on Shepherd's Bush this summer to watch the World Cup.

The Shepherd's Bush Pavilion will be turned into a 900-seat terraced arena as part of a 'World Cup Carnival'.

From June 11 - July 11, fans will be coming to the Shepherd's Bush Green venue to watch key matches on a 16-metre HD screen.

There will be bars serving 'world-inspired cocktails' and an outdoor barbeque with food representing the countries of the teams playing.

England’s first game takes place on June 12th.

The Pavilion has been empty since 2001 but is still used occasionally as an entertainment venue.

A planning application to turn the Grade II listed building into a hotel was approved last January.
