Man Killed and Three Injured in Collision on Westway

A man in his twenties has died after a BMW car in which he was travelling was hit by a lorry on the Westway in the early hours of Monday morning (13 June).

The collision, in which three other people were injured took place on the A40 between Paddington and White City shortly before 3.17am.

An London’s Air Ambulance helicopter attended the crash along with other emergency services and the three injured people were taken to hospital. The deceased man was treated by paramedics but, despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed.

The Westway was closed eastbound between Wood Lane and Paddington and drivers were advised to avoid the area.

The 21-year-old driver of the car was taken to hospital, where he remains. He has been arrested on suspicion of causing death whilst uninsured aggravated vehicle taking. He has been bailed until July.

There have been no other arrests.
