Scuffles between the police and anti-vaccination protestors broke out in White City this Monday afternoon after a crowd gathered on Shepherd’s Bush Green and then marched to Television Centre at around 1pm on Monday (9 August).

A large number of police assembled outside the BBC Studioworks building to prevent the demonstrators gaining entry.

An attempt was made by some of the protestors to gain entry to the building but the police cordon pushed them back.

The group were targeting the building because they believe the BBC and other ‘mainstream media’ are giving a false view of the coronavirus pandemic and the vaccination programme. Piers Corbyn, the brother of the former Labour leader, was in attendance.

The BBC are no longer based at Television Centre. BBC Studioworks is a commercial subsidiary which provides services to all major TV broadcasters. They provide facilities to programmes such as the Graham Norton Show and Loose Women which was being filmed as the protest was taking place.

The protestors later made the decision to move onto Broadcasting House in Portland Place where the BBC is actually based.

The Met said, "We are aware of a group of demonstrators who, having set off from Shepherd’s Bush Green shortly after 13:00hrs, are now gathered outside a commercial premises in Wood Lane, White City.

"There have been no arrests but officers are in attendance and will continue to monitor the situation."

There have been a number of incidents in the Shepherd’s Bush area involving the anti-vaxx with a group storming the Westfield Shopping Centre in May and a camp of protestors having to be removed from Shepherd’s Bush Green this June.
