All Aboard to Acton!

London Transport Museum opens its west London Depot for new summer family fun season

At London Transport Museum we're getting ready to throw open the doors of our Depot in Acton for ten days of summer family fun between 19-23 and 26-30 August.

The Depot houses most of the museum's extensive collection – over 320,000 artefacts including historic London buses, Tube trains, and weird and wonderful objects from the Capital's transport history.

We've designed this new summer season especially for young visitors and their families. A child-friendly trail will take you on a journey of discovery around the Depot to learn about the colourful vehicles in our collection, kids will receive a fun pack with activities to do during the visit and to take home, and our Miniature Railway will be open for service for you to enjoy rides on replica models of vintage London Underground trains used on the Metropolitan line between the 1920s and 1960s.

Our Museum Depot shop will also be open each day of the event, offering exclusive transport themed toys, games, posters and gifts.

Tickets and time slots can be booked between 11:00 and 18:00 each day with last entry at 16:00. Adult tickets cost £15 and are £7.50 for children aged 4 to 17. Children under 3 go free. Timed tickets must be booked in advance online.

Visitors who already own an annual pass for London Transport Museum in Covent Garden will also enjoy a 1/3 off when booking timed tickets .

Visitors can feel reassured that new safety measures will be in place during their visit in line with government guidance, including one-way routes, enhanced cleaning regimes, pre-visit guidance as well as PPE and updated training for staff.
