TfL says that industrial action on Friday and Saturday has been suspended
Bus services operated as normal after improved pay offer
The planned strike by bus drivers working for London United due to take place this week has been suspended according to TfL.
Staff at seven garages across west and south west London were due to take industrial action in a dispute over pay and contract terms.
A day of strike action last Monday (26 April) was suspended after an improved offer was made by London United management. The company, which is owned by French transport conglomerate RATP, is understood to have put the offer forward over the previous weekend.
Unite the Union, which represents the drivers, said that, subject to the agreement of members, the strikes would be called off. They suspended the action on Monday to give time to scrutinise the new terms.
Although no announcement has been made by the union, it is believed that further industrial action is unlikely at this stage.
The union’s regional officer Michelle Braveboy said prevuously, “If the offer is agreed by members, future industrial action will be called off.”
The strike would have affected 7 bus garages and 53 routes across west and south west London.
