Go Wild over Andrew Wilson's Calendar

Buy beautiful views of Hammersmith and Brook Green and boost a local family charity

If you still haven't bought a calendar for 2015, you can boost local charity the Shepherd's Bush Families Project and Children's Centre by buying Andrew Wilson's calendar, featuring beautiful views of Hammersmith and Brook Green.

The month-by-month images are taken from a new book, Wild about Hammersmith and Brook Green, by photographer Andrew (pictured above with his springer Josie) and local guide Caroline MacMillan.

Both calendar and book are sponsored by estate agent Finlay Brewer, which is selling the calendars at its branches in Shepherd's Bush Road and Askew Road.

The year’s pictures follow the seasons, starting with a chilly view of the Dove pub on the Hammersmith riverside, via crocuses on Brook Green, daffs in Hammersmith, the Boat Race crowd, through to an autumnal sunset at Fulham Reach, mist around Hammersmith Bridge and finally a snowy scene at St Peter’s church.

"I always start by looking at an area from its open spaces," says Andrew, whose latest book, published in November, is part of a series of ‘Wild about’ coffee-table books, also featuring Barnes, Putney, Kew, Wimbledon, Sheen, Chiswick, Battersea and Twickenham... many sponsored by local estate agents.

" I have a dog, so I start each book with parks," he says adding that as he lives just over the river in Putney, he began with areas such as Furnivall Gardens, Ravenscourt Park, Brackenbury and Brook Green.

" One thing I’ve added in this book is a couple of walks, which neatly fit in with the concept. " " " Caroline MacMillan is a local guide, and she devised the walks."

Aside from river views and pictures of the open spaces in their different seasons, Andrew’s favourite buildings in the borough include Hammersmith Bridge, St Peter’s Church and the old Hammersmith Library building.
