Don't Lose Your Right To Vote

Still time to register for May elections

With local council elections taking place on 6 May 2010 and a General Election likely on the same day, residents are being encouraged to make sure they are registered to vote.

A voters' list published in January showed that 124,096 people were registered to vote in Hammersmith and Fulham – one of the highest rates in inner London.

“We have a very mobile population in H&F so our task is not easy but we have always sought to maximise registration,” says H&F Chief Executive Geoff Alltimes.

Anyone wishing to register to vote, who has not already done so, can download a registration form from www.lbhf.gov.uk/electoralservices or call the electoral
registration hotline on 020 8753 4466 or email electoral.services@lbhf.gov.uk.

Britons living abroad have until 31 March to get their names onto the electoral register.

All British citizens over 18 years of age who have lived abroad for less than 15 years are eligible to vote in the constituency where they were last registered.

Visit www.dontleaveyourvoteathome.com to complete the Electoral Commission's registration form as well as forms to vote by proxy or by post.
