Free Event on Wednesday for Members of the Windrush Generation

Get advice on proving your right to live and work in the UK at St Paul's Centre

Are UK Hammersmith & Fulham is hosting a free event on Wednesday for members of the Windrush Generation who would like advice on proving your right to live and work in the UK.

Children of Caribbean immigrants and other Commonwealth citizens arrived on the passports of their parents who came to help rebuild the country after the WWII.

Their arrival documents were lost, and for many these were the only forms of identification they had.

If you have been affected, you’re entitled to support from the Home Office if you:

  • Arrived in the UK before 1 January 1973 but do not have the correct documents to prove your right to be here.
  • Settled in the UK between 1 January 1973 and the end of 1988 but do not have the correct documents to prove your right to be here.

The advice session is run by Age UK Hammersmith & Fulham and will be held from 10.30am to 1.30pm on Wednesday 19 September.

It will take place at St Paul’s Church Centre in Queen Caroline Street, Hammersmith and there is no need to book a place in advance - just drop in to the centre, close to Hammersmith Broadway.

If you need further information, call Sharon on 020 7386 9085 or email her at sharon@ageukhf.org.uk to find out more.
