Bush Theatre's Pirate is Safely Back Home

Black and white cat found after disappearing for a week

The Bush Theatre's beloved black and white cat Pirate is safely back home after being missing for a week.

His disappearance led frantic staff at the Bush to send out appeals including one on ShepherdsBushW12.com, saying: " 'Pirate' went missing from the Bush Theatre, Shepherds Bush on 15th August 2012. He is a friendly black and white cat with one eye. Wearing a Battersea Cats & Dogs collar with bell. "

The search for the theatre cat also had its own twitter hashtag, #findpirate and on Wednesday the Bush Theatre Team tweeted that they had had a phone call saying that Pirate had been found.

Shortly after there was another tweet: "Overjoyed that Pirate was found safe and sound. He was found near the BBC prop store. Secret ambitions to become a TV star?"

Now though the team think the much loved moggy had another motive, joking: "We think he came back 'cos he didn't want to miss #mudlarks."

Mudlarks, the acclaimed debut play by Vickie Donoghue, runs at the Bush Theatre from September 18. You can read more about it here.
