Cycling courses for the over 50s
‘Agewell on Wheels’ is a scheme which aims to improve safety awareness, cycling skills and boost confidence for those returning to cycling, with the emphasis on healthy enjoyment.
‘Agewell on Wheels’ will consist of two six week courses plus a shorter four week summer course in August. The initiative is part of the council’s Agewell project, which promotes exercise and healthy living for the over 50s in the borough.
All the courses will be based at Linford Christie Stadium on Wormwood Scrubs.
Bicycles will be provided for those who currently don’t have one and if people wish to bring their own bike, an expert will be on hand to carry out simple repairs.
Sessions will begin with a fitness warm up, and cycling instructors will be on hand to teach basic cycling skills at the stadium.
