Wood Lane Reopens after Early Morning Security Scare


Suspicious vehicle spotted near BBC Media Village

Wood Lane was closed and Wood Lane and White City tube stations closed this morning, February 11, due to a security alert near the BBC's Media Village.

Police say they were called at 7.43am after receiving reports of a suspicious vehicle in Wood Lane near White City.

Both Wood Lane and White City Tube stations were closed due to the alert, according to TfL and Wood Lane was closed at both ends emergency crews attended the scene.

This picture of the scene was taken by Ian Patterson ‏@ianpatterson99, who tweeted: " Current view of Wood Lane - closed. Despite obvious police cordon etc, someone just tried to walk straight thru."

At around 8.45am TfL Traffic News ‏@TfLTrafficNews tweeted: " UPDATE Wood Lane NOW OPEN after an emergency services incident. The Qs' on approaches are starting to clear."

The underground stations are also now open and bus services have returned to normal, though TfL warns they are currently delayed by up to 20 minutes because of the earlier alert.
