23-year-old man questioned over killing of Ionut Lazar
Detectives investigating the murder of a man in Shepherd’s Bush last October have arrested a 23-year-old man.
He was detained on Thursday, 24 August on suspicion of the murder of Ionut Lazar after attending a London police station and was subsequently released under investigation whilst enquiries continue.
The arrest comes two weeks after three men were acquitted of the murder and robbery of Ionut Lazar at the Old Bailey.
Another two males both minors were arrested last October in connection with the investigation but released with no further action.
28-year-old Mr Lazar was shot dead at a house in Askew Road, W12 on 22 October 2016 - two days after he arrived in the UK.
He was found suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest in the early hours of the morning. He died at the scene a short while later despite the efforts of paramedics. A post-mortem gave the cause of death as a bullet wound to the chest.
