21 Firefighters Called to Blaze in Pioneer Way


Elderly lady taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation

 

Four fire engines, 21 firefighters and officers were called to a fire in a block of flats on Pioneer Way in Shepherds Bush this morning, Tuesday July 2.

The fire damaged part of a flat on the first  floor and one elderly lady was taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation. Four further people left the building before the Brigade arrived.

The Brigade says it was called at 8.31am and the fire was under control by 9.38am. Fire crews from Wandsworth, Acton and Willesden fire stations were at the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
