W12's Hoxton Hotel Unveiled Ahead of November Launch

Covers come off building as group begins hunting for staff

Scaffolding comes down from the Hoxton Hotel

The Hoxton, the new hotel on the west side of Shepherd’s Bush Green, has been unveiled ahead of its projected opening in November this year.

The nine-storey building, on the site of Threshold and Union House at 65 to 69 Shepherd’s Bush Green, a 1950’s office block which formerly housed Shepherd’s Bush post office, has been hidden during construction behind protective shrouds.

But now the building is close to completion, the covers have come off and the facade, which includes three different colours of brick, finally revealed. The Hoxton will complete W12’s new hotel quarter, sitting next door to the Grade II listed Dorsett Shepherd’s Bush and the adjoining Palladium, both of which have been awarded prestigious Environment Awards by the Hammersmith Society.

EPR Architects say the new hotel’s design “unites the vibrant and unique Art Deco characteristics of the local area with The Hoxton’s signature aesthetic and a relaxed neighbourhood feel.

“The project complements a striking streetscape populated by some of London’s most significant buildings, including Shepherd’s Bush Empire.”

This is the fourth of the group’s ‘open-house’ hotels in London, alongside its original hotel in Shoreditch, plus Southwark and Holborn. It will have 237 bedrooms of differing sizes, its Hox lobby bar, meeting and event space, known as The Apartment and a restaurant and terrace. As we revealed earlier this year, the restaurant will offer a Thai-American menu.

In the run-up to the November launch, Hoxton’s parent company Ennismore has now begun recruiting the first staff, saying: “ West London here we come…The Hoxton is opening in Shepherd’s Bush!

“East, central and south of the river – we’ve got it covered, but we couldn’t resist setting up a new home in West London.”

Roles now on offer include Head of Rooms, Front Office Manager, Head Chef, Head Housekeeper and Maintenance Manager. Their job says Ennismore is to “bring our brand to life in our newest postcode” and to “ultimately ensure our guests are having a great and unique experience with us”.
