This simple and elegant project attempts to juggle the dynamics of a large extended family. A 2-storey annex to the side provides self-contained accommodation for the owners' teenage boys. The large garden extension features panoramic sliding doors connecting expansive open plan living space with a walled garden, at the base of a 4-storey gothic inspired house. A large cedar-clad terrace with frameless glass balustrade and walk-over roof lights survey the garden below.
26 Rylett Crescent
Opening Times: Sun - 10am-5pm. First come basis, queuing outside if necessary. Last entry 4.30pm.
A contemporary pheonix like rebirth of a pretty but “broken” Victorian semi, located in the heart of a Conservation area. A north facing modern wrap around garden extension sensitively but resolutely settles between two neighbouring extensions, and exploits every ray of available sunlight. Wide range of interesting contemporary finishes including polished concrete and recycled glass.
