A special event to mark the centenary
Sports stars, dignitaries and members of the public will be attending a special event on Friday 31 October to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the 1908 Olympic Games, which took place in White City.
The event, which will take place at Hammersmith Town Hall, will feature demonstrations of sports from 1908 such as tug-of-war and fencing.
Local Olympians from this year's Beijing Games will also be honoured and it is hoped that gold medallist James De Gale will attend.
The event will be an opportunity for guests to remember the Games which took place in the borough 100 years ago.
