Deadline Approaches for School Applications

Forms in by 9 January 2009

By law your child should start school in the school term after his or her fifth birthday. In Hammersmith & Fulham, children can start school in the reception class in either September (autumn term) or January (spring term). 

For the 2009/10 intake, this means children will start school either: 

• in September 2009, if their birth date is between 1 September 2004 and 28 February 2005  
• in January 2009, if their birth date is between 1 March 2005 and 31 August 2005.                                

If your child is due to start in the reception class in September 2009 or January 20010 you should have applied by 9 January 2009. You will be sent an offer of a place on 1 May 2009.

The online system will remain open until midnight, 9 January 2009.
