Recognition for local teenagers
Young people in the borough are being given the chance to go on the trip of a lifetime.
Youngsters aged 16-19 who have made a positive contribution locally in H&F are being asked to nominate themselves under the 'Shining Stars' initiative.
The scheme highlights and celebrates the positive contribution youngsters are making in H&F. They must have a valid UK passport and also explain in 500 words how they have shown lasting commitment to a positive cause, made a positive difference to life in their local community or gone out of their way to help others. This could be through volunteering, caring for someone, being involved in a local organisation, playing sports or studying hard at school.
The ten lucky winners will then fly to Sabah, deep in the jungles of Borneo in August, to work on a community project that will help local people.
The closing date for nominations is June 5 and the winners will be announced on June 10.
