Princess Victoria in Uxbridge Road

Uxbridge Road's spectacular gin palace has become a gin hotel.

The Princess Victoria, whch was recently voted W12's Most loved Local Pub by TimeOut readers, has officially gone up in the world with the opening of five luxurious rooms above.

Each 'boutique' bedroom in the pub, which was originally built in 1829, has been named after a classic gin cocktail - Negroni, Bramble, Vesper, Gibson or Bronx.

And with pub serving over 100 different gins - both artisan and famous names - they can try out the cocktail in the bar downstairs.

And for the first 100 guests, the first gin will be free.

The Shepherd's Bush landmark was reopened last October, after being suddenly closed in summer by the previous owners, by school friends Tom Peake, Mark Reynolds and Nick Fox, responsible for Three Cheers Pub Co, who own eight London pubs.

The rooms were d esigned by co-owner Tom, who says they are defined by their bold use of colour. Hague blue or off-white walls, contrast with flashes of gold or emerald green, anchored by bespoke walnut wardrobes and desks, illuminated by stunning contemporary lighting.

Each room has its own design features such as Genoese gold side tables, a Rockett St George leather chair, or vintage travel rack whilst bright, graphic gin inspired art from the Adam Ellis studio runs throughout. More modern feaures include HD smart televisions, free WiFi, Nespresso machines, mini-fridges and huge rain showers.

Breakfast is served in-room Monday to Friday and in the pub from 8.30am at the weekends. Those wishing to start the day in style on Saturday meanwhile can go bottomless from 10am with unlimited prosecco or Bloody Mary for two hours for just £15.

All rooms cost £119, including include breakfast. Bookings can be made online or by phoning 020 8749 4466.
