The Upper Room's Amanuel cuts ribbon in Goldhawk Road


The director of a Shepherd’s Bush charity for homeless people, The Upper Room has opened a new Sainsbury’s Local on Goldhawk Road.

Amanuel Woldesus was invited to launch the opening of the supermarket chain’s new store in Goldhawk Road, Shepherd’s Bush opposite Goldhawk Road Tube station, on Friday December 6.

The Upper Room is a charity working with socially disadvantaged people who may be homeless, ex-offenders or migrants looking for work.

It provides a free lunch club on weekdays above St Saviour’s Church in Cobbold Road, a jobs and training scheme and a driving school for ex-offenders.
