60 year-old man dies after being hit by bus on Friday

Police are appealing for witnesses to a fatal accident which happened outside Shepherd's Bush Station on Friday, January 20 just before 7pm.

Eye witnesses said the man was crossing the road between the underground and overground stations at the entrance to Westfield when was struck by a double decker bus.

Police say a 60 year-old man was hit by a double decker bus and was rushed to St Mary's Hospital for immediate surgery, suffering from serious head injuries.

However, on Saturday, they released a statement confirming that the victim had died. The statement said: " At 2pm on Saturday 21st January, the male died as a result of those head injuries. His next of kin was with him at the hospital.

"Officers from Metropolitan Police Traffic Command Unit are investigating the circumstances of the accident."

Anyone who saw the accident is being asked to contact police by ringing 101 and reference CAD 7450.
