E-scooter Rider Fights for Life After Scrubs Lane Crash


Police appeal for witness to collision in early hours of Monday morning

A 28-year-old man has been critically injured after being involved in a crash while riding an e-scotter.

The collision occurred at Scrubs Lane near to the junction with Hythe Road, near the Car Giant car dealership shortly before 1:48am on Monday, 12 July.

The victim been taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition. His next of kin are aware and are being supported by specialist police officers.

An investigation into the collision is under way. It is believed that the e-scooter had been involved in a collision with a black vehicle, possibly a hatchback, which failed to stop at the scene.

The vehicle may have sustained damage to the front number plate area.
