Goldhawk Road Closed from Junction with King Street Following Fire


Blaze in building above Artisan Coffee shop early this morning

 

Motorists are being warned by police to expect delays, with Goldhawk Road closed from its junction with King Street to Stamford Brook, following a fire above the Artisan Coffee shop early this morning.

King Street was also closed for several hours, but has now reopened.

Hammersmith and Fulham Police @MPSHammFul tweeted at around 8.25am: " King Street has now re opened, hopefully closure will be moved to the bottom of Goldhawk Rd only in next few hours. Will be morning delays."

The fire which started in the early hours of this morning has now been put out. It has believed to started in the flats above the coffee shop on the border of Hammersmith and Chiswick.

London Fire Brigade is still in attendance and six fire engines were at the scene.

Artisan Coffee has also been forced to stay shut this morning, The coffee shop tweeted @artisan_coffee: Artisan at Stamford Brook is closed unfortunately due to a fire in flats above us.. devastating but thankfully no one hurt.
