Westfield Back in Action as Lockdown Eases

Shopping centre has instituted a range of safety measures

One way system in operation at Westfield

A significant proportion of retailers in the Westfield Shopping Centre in Shepherd’s Bush reopened last Monday (15 June) with a range of safety measures put in place to protect visitors.

There is a signposted one way entry and exit system to control footfall and reduce cross path movements. On the Southern Terrace, the Village doors are entry only and the Atrium doors are exit only. All other doors will be entry and exit with clearly marked signage. Customers will be asked to ‘keep to the left’ throughout the centre to reduce cross path movements and maintain 2m social distancing.

Queuing measures may be put in place to manage the number of customers inside the store at any one time, customers will be asked to visit later if there are long queues outside the store.

Mall seating areas have been removed, but areas for disabled guests and those in need of support will still be available. There are regular public broadcast announcements throughout the centre to promote all safety guidelines.

The centre’s management say that as well as heightened hygiene measures across every touch point, they have technology to monitor footfall and ensure social distancing is practiced. Hand sanitiser dispensers will be located at every entrance, lift lobby and car park.

Onsite security and guest services teams are there to control the measures at all times.

The majority of food courts & restaurants remain closed and Vue Cinema say they are hoping to start reopening on 4 July in line with government guidelines.
