TK Maxx to Launch Huge New Store in Westfield
30,000 square foot shop to open in the Autumn

TK Maxx has confirmed that it plans to open a huge new store in the space that formerly housed department store Debenhams at Westfield London in Shepherd's Bush.

The clothing and homeware chain says it will launch the store - its second in the borough alongside the existing shop in Hammersmith’s King Street - in the autumn.

A TK Maxx spokesman said: “Plans for this exciting 30,000 square foot space are well underway and we’ll be working round the clock to bring West London customers our unique mix of incredible products at amazing prices.”

TK Maxx, which already has 58 shops across London including nearby branches in Putney, Kew and Ealing, and recently announced it was searching for more sites.

Debenhams, on the west side of the shopping centre by Wood Lane, was among the first stores to open at Westfield when it launched in 2008. However, the chain went into administration three years ago and the company announced that the store, which was already closed due to the Covid 19 lockdown, would not reopen.

TK Maxx’s move is one of a number of current and upcoming changes at Westfield. A second department store, House of Fraser, closed its doors at the end of last year and its space, on the eastern end of the centre is being converted by nightclub owners Ministry of Sound into offices, fitness studios, members’ bar and Westfield’s first public rooftop restaurant and bar.

New stores meanwhile have included beauty chains Space NK and Sephora, and Westfield’s owner Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield says other big names will be joining them during 2023.

Leasing director Kate Orwin said: “More exciting signings will soon be unveiled for this part of the centre as we continue to transform our spaces and bring customers the best retail, dining and leisure mix.”
